Testimonials

Moments of Truth are spotlights on employees that have demonstrated exceptional acts that go above and beyond their expected roles or duties.

Yvonne Pulidoe, while escorting a blind elderly resident home, was informed by the resident that Daryl, her POA, had a birthday coming up. The resident wanted to do something special but she could not think of what to do. Yvonne made arrangements for a special dinner at Grand Court Mesa. Yvonne reserved a table, arranged for a nice steak dinner for the Resident and Daryl, ordered, and picked-up a birthday cake.

Yvonne managed to do all of this on her own time, and thanks to Grand Court’s nomination form, everyone is able to appreciate the good things that our second and/or third shift employees do when we are not there to witness.

Thank you Yvonne it is truly a pleasure to have you at Grand Court Mesa.

Phil Lyons is one of our outstanding employees at Grand Court Mesa. Phil was working maintenance part time when the activity assistant resigned. The activity director was out at the time and no one was available to handle the water aerobics class. When Phil heard that we were planning to cancel the class, he knew how disappointed our residents would be. He volunteered to handle the class and did a fantastic job. The residents loved it and Phil was soon after offered the position of activity assistant.

Thanks, Phil, for doing whatever it takes to keep our residents happy!

Tricia Salas, Nursing Assistant at Grand Court Mesa, goes above and beyond in caring for the residents she serves. When Tricia noticed that a blind resident’s shirt was in need of mending, she didn’t tell him or even ask someone else to take care of it. She took it home, repaired it, and returned it to the resident, so that he could continue to wear the shirt he liked.

Thank you, Tricia, for being such a great example for us all.

Joni Lightell, Nursing Assistant at Grand Court, was driving home after work one afternoon when she noticed one of our residents walking away from the building about a half mile away. Joni stopped to pick her up and take her back to the building. Joni learned that the resident was originally heading to Wendy's, which is about a full two mile round trip. Joni drove the resident to Wendy's, so that she could get the food that she was craving. Joni was happy to spend the extra time to keep the resident safe and happy.
